Bynum Gee Young, age 84, of Valley Springs, Arkansas, passed away Sunday, October 30, 2022 at home surrounded by his family.
The son of Gilley Bee and Nina Poneta (Trammell) Young was born on April 8, 1938 in Everton, Arkansas. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army. He was a long-time employee of the Valley Springs School District, retiring in 2000. He worked in maintenance and also as a bus driver.
Bynum was an avid outdoorsman, enjoying camping, fishing, and hunting. He also enjoyed woodworking, antique vehicles, and Harley Davidson Motorcycles. He was also a huge Arkansas Razorback sports fan.
Bynum was very loving and caring. He was one of the hardest working people you would ever meet. Bynum was a devoted husband and the best dad. He was very proud of his family, especially his grandkids and great grandkids. The size of his heart was immeasurable, and throughout his life, he touched the lives of many, especially at school, where he was fondly remembered.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Gilley and Nina Young; a daughter, Michelle Love; two sisters, Ruth Young and Tina Tabor, and his brother, G.B. Young.
Bynum is survived by his wife of 30 years, Reta Young; two sons, Jason Sullins, and Micheal Sullins (Nikki); four daughters, Jennifer Seats (Dewayne), Michealle Hicks (John), Connie Ann Bryant (J.B.), and Kimberly Rogers (Rick); 18 grandchildren, 16 great grandchildren, and a host of extended relatives and many dear friends who loved him and will miss him.
Funeral service will be at 2 PM, Wednesday, November 2, 2022 at Coffman Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Carl Garvin officiating. Burial will follow at Crawford Cemetery.
Visitation will be Tuesday from 6PM – 8 PM at the funeral home.
Pallbearers are Rick McCarn, Roger Edwards, Jim Young, Vince Deaton, Byron Markle and Mitch Valentine, Jr.

The family wishes to extend a special thank you to Vince Deaton, for being a rock for the family through this difficult time; and to ER Nurse, Mary, for your special words, and explaining in detail what was going on.
