Buster Jack Matlock, age 88, of Greers Ferry, Arkansas, passed away Thursday, May 4, 2023, in Conway, Arkansas.

The son of Lawrence and Helen Matlock was born in Parthenon, Arkansas on November 29, 1934.  He was a lifelong resident of Arkansas.

Buster was a 1952 graduate of Jasper High School.  In 1953, he met his wife, June in Little Rock. He worked at GE Supply as a shop manager. They moved to Harrison, Arkansas in 1961. He worked for Judy Insulation and became knowledgeable in renovations. He renovated all family members' homes.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Lawrence and Helen Matlock; maternal grandparents, Arizona Casey and Richard Brasel; paternal grandparents, Idabelle and Claude Matlock; and Wm Douglas Matlock, son; brother-in-law, Vernon Stacey; uncles, Boyd Matlock and Scott Matlock.

Buster is survived by his wife of 40 years, Frances June; his children, Virginia Matlock and Pamela Landreth and husband Rodger and Deborah Potter; his sister, Mary Alice Stacey, grandchildren, Justin, Jared, Kimberly, Emily, Hayden, and Abbigail; nieces and nephews, Joe David, Kathy, and Terri; and several great-grandchildren, Sydnie, Will and Kaley, extended relatives and many dear friends.

Buster was an avid fisherman.  He loved trout fishing on the river. He treasured spending time with his family and grandkids. He was the best husband, father, and grandfather, full of unconditional love.  He was very proud of his kids and grandkids. Buster was a hard worker, and a good person, who would do anything for anyone.  He was a big teddy bear, with a heart of gold, who was loved by all who knew him and will be greatly missed. He had no hobbies but loved to mow his yard and to grow a garden each year.

Visitation will be from 2:00 to 4:00 PM, Sunday, May 7, 2023, at Coffman Funeral Home in Jasper, AR.

The funeral service is 2:00 PM, Monday, May 8, 2023, at Coffman Funeral Home in Jasper with Pastor Billy Paul Matlock officiating. Burial will follow in Union Hill Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be Rodger Landrick, Lee, Gary Matlock, Jason Matlock, Jarret Matlock, and Remington Matlock.

The honorary pallbearer is LC Matlock.
