Buelah Jo Rogers Harrington, of Lead Hill, Arkansas joined Heaven's choir on Friday, July 15, 2016 at the age of 80.
The daughter of Roy and Allie (Journagan) Akins was born March 20, 1936 at Harrison, Arkansas.
Jo was a lifelong resident of Lead Hill and was of Baptist faith. She worked for many years at White Rogers and was a member of "Picking and Grinning", where she sang and played the Omnichord. She will be remembered as a wonderful wife, mother and grandmother who also loved fishing and singing. She had a big heart, always welcoming family and friends in her home when they came to visit.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her 1st husband, Dean Rogers, 3 brothers, Boyd, John and L.R. Akins; 4 sisters, Alice Young, Mary Rogers, Liza Copeland and Betty Burnett; a daughter-in-law, Laura Rogers a son, Pat Harrington and great granddaughter, Madelyn Pilar.
Jo is survived by her husband, Royal "Roy" Harrington of the home; 5 sons, Bobby Rogers and wife Janice of Yellville, Billy Rogers and wife, Gail of Windsor, MO, Jimmy Rogers of Harmon, Timmy Rogers and wife Tyna of Harrison and Randy Harrington and wife Tanya of Calico Rock; 2 daughters, Deanna Burleson and Ron Vierling of Yellville, Pam Bear and husband Gary of Walterboro, SC; a brother, Frank Akins of Crescent City, CA; 17 grandchildren, 33 great grandchildren and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends who loved her and will miss her dearly.
Services will be at 10:00 AM, Wednesday, July 20, 2016 at Coffman Chapel in Harrison with Pastor Roger D. Rogers officiating with burial to follow in Milum Cemetery in Lead Hill.
Visitation will be Tuesday from 6-8pm at the funeral home, with a short eulogy by Rev. Billy Rogers.
Pallbearers are Bailey Burleson, Brandon Burleson, Nathan Rogers, Randy Rogers, Jerry Merriman, and Nelson Ballard.
Honorary Pallbearers are Jacob Terry, Matthew Terry, Terry Rogers, Buster Vierling, Grover Downes and all the pickers with "Pickers and Grinning".
