Doyne Thomas "Bud" Thornton, age 75 of Harrison, Arkansas passed away Tuesday, December 3, 2013 at North Arkansas Regional Medical Center in Harrison surrounded by his loving family.
The son of Iman and Selma (Cole) Thornton was born December 20, 1937 in North Little Rock, Arkansas.
Bud enjoyed being with people and shared his testimony with everyone. He enjoyed Gospel Music.
He was a retired police officer, a retired bounty bunter, and a retired truck driver.
He was preceded in death by his parents; a daughter, Joy Gail Thornton; and a brother, Bill Thornton.
Survivors are his wife, Reba (Baty) Thornton of the home; a daughter, Staci Thornton of the home; a son, J.T. Thornton and wife, Makaylia of Fayetteville, Arkansas; sisters, Connie Mahoney of Cabot, Arkansas, Donna Williams of Jacksonville, Arkansas and Betty Gilliam also of Jacksonville, Arkansas; two grandchildren, Brittany Harris and husband Nathan and Jake Thornton; one great-granddaughter, Gracie Harris; and a very special nurse, Tonya Jones.
Visitation was Friday, December 6, 2013 with the service Saturday, December 7, 2013, both at Coffman Funeral Home in Harrison. Pastor Todd Rogers will officiate the service.
Burial was Monday, December 9, 2013 in Alpena Cemetery with pallbearers being Zach Stephens, Justin Aylett, James Holley, Stan Hampton, Shane Gilliam, and Mark Bailey. Honorary pallbearers are Brock Gilliam, Braedyn Gilliam, Brityn Gilliam, and Dr. Victor Armstrong.
