Charles Bruce Jones, 86 of Marble Falls, Arkansas passed away Tuesday, July 2, 2019 at North Arkansas Regional Medical Center.
The son of Bruton and Maggie (Oliver) Jones was born February 21, 1933 at Jasper, Arkansas. He was a resident of Newton County most of his life.
In 1953, Bruce enlisted in the US Army and served his country during the Korean War. He worked as heavy equipment operator and was a 32nd degree Mason. He enjoyed fishing, raising horses and hobby farming. He had a great sense of humor and was quite the cut-up. He had a nack for getting himself into adventures that would make great stories for years to come. He was an avid animal lover and all animals were drawn to him.
Bruce was baptized in the summer of 2018 at the Stringtown Bridge on the Little Buffalo River by Kerry Liggett.
He was preceded in death by his parents, his sisters, Shirley Jones, Geneva Hunter and Minnie Shaddox.
Bruce is survived by his wife of 61 years, Patsy Ann Jones; 3 sons, James Bruce "Jimmy" Jones, Patrick Lee Jones and wife Vickie and Charles Brent Jones and wife Teresa all of Harrison; 2 daughters, Tana Charmaine Long and husband Terry of Overland Park, KS and Lena Ann Jones of Jasper; a sister, Carolyn Sue Bailey and husband George of Jasper; 14 grandchildren, 14 great grandchildren and many other relatives and friends.
Funeral services will be held at 1:00 PM, Saturday, July 6, 2019 at Coffman Funeral Home in Jasper with Chaplain Kerry Liggett officiating. Burial will follow at Jasper Cemetery.
Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service beginning at 12:00 PM.
Pallbearers are Justin Jones, Dr. Heath Jones, Jakob Jones, Bannon Jones, Guy Shaddoxx, Jr., and Michael Thomas.
Honorary pallbearers are George Bailey, Buckie Thomas and his special caregiver, Toni Atcheson.
