Bobby Wayne "Red" Henderson, Sr. of Wayton, Arkansas was born on May 6, 1937 in Wayton, Arkansas the son of Sanford and Lucy Mae (Snow) Henderson and passed away Thursday, June 1, 2017 at Regency Medical Center in Springdale, Arkansas at the age of 80.
He was a long time resident of Newton County and he had served in the United States Army and then in the Army National Guard. He served in the military over 24 years before retiring from his service to his country as a Sargent.
He also had worked at Flex Steel in Harrison and had served on the Deer School Board.
He loved fishing, hunting, camping, gardening and visiting with family and friends. He loved to cut up with his nieces, nephews and God-grandchildren. He was a man who also enjoyed going site seeing, eating out and spending time with his love (wife) Joyce (Campbell) Henderson who has been by his side for 37 years. He has one son Bobby Wayne Henderson, Jr. who he loved dearly and loved spending quality time with all outdoor activities, jeeping, four wheeling and shooting guns. They both enjoyed telling and sharing stories. Something that made Bob Henderson proud and happy to share with his son.
He was preceded in death by his father Sanford Henderson; his mother Lucy Mae (Snow) Henderson; two brothers Norman "Ned" Henderson and Shannon Henderson; two sisters Naomi Henderson Lansden Vaughn and Helen Henderson Davis.
Bob is survived by his wife Joyce (Campbell) Henderson of the home; a son Bobby Wayne Henderson, Jr. of Russellville; also three God-grandchildren Melisha and Gracie Collins and Jesse Gunter; many nieces, nephews, cousins, and other family and friends.
Pallbearers will be Roger Bohannon, Jonathon Gunter, Russell Mickey, Donnie Bohannon, Clint Taylor and CJ Campbell. Honorary pallbearers will be Bob Tanner, Ab Phillips, Glen Collins, nephews, nieces, brothers-in-law and family.
Funeral services will be 2 p.m. Tuesday, June 6, 2017 at the Deer School Gymnasium with Brother Tony Taylor and Brother Robert Boen officiating. Burial will follow in the Wayton Cemetery under the direction of Coffman Funeral Home of Jasper.
Visitation will be 6 to 8 p.m. Monday, June 5, 2017 at Coffman Funeral Home in Jasper.
