Bobby Ray Lawrence, of Lead Hill, passed away at his home on January 10, 2023. He was one day shy of his 88th birthday.

The son of Milford F. "Pop" and Edna Lee (Stevens) Lawrence was born on January 11, 1935 in Winnfield, Louisiana.

Bobby was in the U.S. Army for a short time. He was a Riverboat Captain for over 40 years. He loved his job and still to this day he would tell you all about his career on the river. The river never got old.

He was a member of the Lead Hill First Baptist Church. Bobby married Sylvia Moring on January 3, 1962.

He was preceded in death by his wife of 58 years, Sylvia Lawrence; his parents; two brothers, Fred and Phil Lawrence; and one sister, Georgia Johns.

Survivors include his children, Teresa (Billy) Clary and Coy (Deena) Lawrence; three grandchildren, Olivia Schultz, Hannah (Trevor) Jeanes, and Brent Lawrence; six great grandchildren, Willow, Jayde, Kamani, Bryce, Able, and Josie Bell Jeanes; one sister, Carol Durbin; and a host of nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be Thursday, January 12, 2023 from 5:00 to 7:00 PM at Coffman Funeral Home of Harrison.

Funeral service is Friday, January 13, 2023 at 2:00 PM at Lead Hill First Baptist Church. Brother Matthew Kerley will officiate. Burial will be in Milum Cemetery at Lead Hill. Pallbearers are Brent Lawrence, Trevor Jeanes, Duane Langley, Tim Williams, Jeff Ryan, and Tony Evans. Honorary pallbearers include Chuck Archer, Jim Dees, and his Sunday school class.
