Bobby Charles "Bob" Kimes, age 68 passed away Sunday, January 11, 2009 at Harrison Hospice House.
The son of Lelon and Alma (Martin) Kimes, he was born May 15, 1940 in Harrison.
Bob worked several years for Acme Laundry as a routeman, and also for 7-Up Bottling Company before retiring to being a cattleman and farmer. His hobbies were going to the lake for camping and fishing. He was a member of the Highway 65 Church of Christ.
His parents and a brother, Gary Lewis Kimes all preceded him in death.
Surviving him are his two sons and their wives, Randy and Jamie Kimes, and Jim and Denise Kimes of Harrison; three sisters, Judy Woodworth of Harrison, Karen Cox of Bruno, and Renita Trumbo of Fayetteville; two brothers, Curtis Kimes of Claremore, OK, and Abe Kimes of Harrison; four grandchildren, Kori, Karlea, Kanyon, and Kitty Kimes all of Harrison; a special love, Syvalene Unwer of Harrison; nieces and nephews and many other family and friends.
Visitation was Wednesday, at Coffman Chapel. Services were held Thursday, at Bellefonte Church of Christ. Jimmy Smith and Ray Crawford officiated. Burial followed in Maplewood Cemetery.
Pallbearers were Tim and Tom Pulliam, Roger Morris, Danny Scogins, Kent and Nick Kimes, Joe Deaton and Dorsey Jackson; Honorary pallbearers were Vince Deaton, Dale Tennison, John Ronald Williams, Jim Taylor, Bob Padfield, Mule Marshall, Dr. Sam Scroggins, Dr. Cathy Clary, Arthur Barrett, Jerry Daniels, Don Persons, Randy smith, Joe Jones, Donnie Williams, Dairl "Pork Chop" Cross, Mosco Cash, Jr., Jack Buddy Holt, Dale Martin, Tate Morris and Mark Billings.
