Everett and Agnes Cone were blessed with the birth of Bobby Lee on November 10, 1932, in Harrison. Bob met the woman God created for him, Avanell McArtor, and they were married on June 12, 1953. As a young couple, Bob and Avanell enjoyed traveling to Germany, Switzerland, Holland, Austria and France while Bob served in the United States Army. After their adventures abroad, they made their home in Harrison and began a family.
He was a member of Woodland Heights Baptist Church and served as music director for over 36 years.
Never having met a stranger, Bob was a people person. All the jobs he held allowed him to do what he loved best, being with people who remained lifelong friends. He worked as a barber, then went into sales. After retirement, he returned to barbering because being the person that he was, he missed the people.
He was preceded in death by his father, Everett Cone and a brother, J. E. Cone.
He is survived by his wife of 55 years, Avanell (McArtor) Cone of the home; his mother, Agnes Cone, age 103 of Harrison; daughter, Janet Cone of the home, daughters and sons-in-law, Cheryl and Wesley Crow and Julia and Tom Angel all of Harrison and Becky and Abe Clary of Lead Hill; five grandchildren, Chastity Norman and husband, Bo and Jeremy Clary all of Lead Hill, Amy Petersen and husband, Joshua, Emily Crow and Katie Angel, all of Harrison; three great-grandchildren, Bradley, Lily and Sarah Norman, all of Lead Hill.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Woodland Heights Baptist Church Building Fund, 515 S.Locust, Harrison, AR 72601 or to Hospice of the Hills, PO Box 1927, Harrison, AR 72602.
