IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Bob
Wells
November 15, 1941 – January 29, 2026
Bobby Gene Wells was called home on Thursday, January 29, 2026 at Hillcrest Rehab Center. He was surrounded by his friends and family. He was 84 years old.
Bob was born November 15, 1941, on Richland in Searcy County. He developed a strong work ethic as a young boy growing up on a farm. The chores may have seemed never-ending, but he always found the time to swim and fish. He was also an excellent basketball player. He attended school at Wyatt and Snowball. His first job was driving the school bus while still in high school.
After Bob's time in the National Guard, he met Margaret Hamilton, the love of his life. They married in 1964 and were together 59 years before her passing in 2023. Together, they enjoyed camping, flea marketing, and watching ball games. Bob and his son, Robert, owned numerous Missouri Fox Trotters which they showed and did a lot of trail riding for many years. Bob also loved to garden and shared his produce with friends.
Bob was a solid provider for the family having held various jobs such as carpet installer, car salesman, and a "Pepsi" man for several years. He eventually retired from Rock-Tenn. He was very passionate about the preservation of the Richland and Snowball's community heritage and the people who lived there. He did this by serving on the Board of Directors for the Hall Cemetery and Whisenant Cemetery.
He is reunited in Heaven with his wife, Margaret; his mother, Ottie Wells; brother, Jimmy Joe Wells; sisters, Jackie Wells and Jannie (Clifton) Griffin and nephew, Rick Griffin.
Bob is survived by one son, Robert Wells and his wife, Michelle; his grandson, Taylor Jace Wells and his wife, Kylea; his granddaughter, Alexis Pearl Mae Wells; a bonus grandson, Gavin Ray; two step-grandchildren, Brittany Brewer and Robbie Holcomb; and a sister, Billie (Nolan) Brisco; and a host of nieces and nephews, whom he was very proud of.
Bob also has many dear friends. Ben Eddings was his life-long, best buddy. Ben and Bob spent many hours together at the barn and probably not a day passed when they didn't talk or see each other. Freddie Watkins was very special to Bob and provided a lot of support and comfort over the last few years. Gary Watkins, Don Mathis, Bob Cash, and Woody Daniels are also a few of many who lifted him up spiritually and supported him during his most difficult time.
Visitation will be Monday, February 2, 2026 from 5 PM to 7 PM at Coffman Funeral Home.
Funeral service will be at 10 AM, Tuesday, February 3, 2026 at Coffman Funeral Home in Harrison. Rev. Woody Daniel will officiate, and Bob Ratchford will be a guest speaker. Burial will follow at Maplewood Cemetery under the direction of Coffman Funeral Home.
