Billy Leon York, age 76 of Jasper, Arkansas passed away Tuesday, July 6, 2010 at North Arkansas Regional Medical Center in Harrison,Arkansas.
He was born February 2, 1934 at Cowell, Arkansas, the son of Edward H. and Iva G. (Smith) York.
He had owned Bill's Texaco in Independence, Missouri and had worked as a service technician at Fred Smith Lincoln-Mercury in Independence. He had lived in Independence for 40 years and had moved back to Newton County in 1996.
Billy was a member of the Jasper Masonic Lodge #21.
He was preceded in death by his parents and one son, Eddie York.
Survivors are his wife, Eleanor Sue (Brasel) York of Jasper; one son, Richard Alan York of Belton, Missouri; one daughter, Lisa Ebert of Overland Park, Kansas; seven grandchildren and eighteen great grandchildren.
Graveside memorial service was Friday, July 9, 2010 at Jasper Cemetery with Pastor Shawn Allred officiating.
