Billy Don Wheeler, 76, of Harrison, passed away at his home on October 21, 2024.

He was born to Edward and Mattie (Sexton) Wheeler on February 19, 1948 in Harrison, Arkansas.  Bill was the next to the youngest of five boys.

He worked at Duncan Industries for over 30 years and retired only because they shut down.  Bill enjoyed his coworkers very much.  He loved farming, bailing hay, taking care of his cows, and especially his horses.

Bill was an avid outdoorsman who always wanted to be on the lake fishing, in the woods hunting or riding four-wheelers, out on horseback rides, or camping with family and friends.

He was affectionately called "Papa" by his grandkids who were his greatest pride and joy.  He was always so proud of them.  To say he cherished his family would be an understatement.

Bill was preceded in death by his mother, Mattie McEntire; stepdad, Willie McEntire; father, Eddie Wheeler; and a brother, Jerral Wheeler.

Survivors include his daughter, Cindy (Wheeler) Dechambre and husband, Dylan; grandchildren, Zoe, Maizy, Zander, and Zeely Dechambre; his ex-wife and lifelong friend, Shirley Wheeler; brothers, Glen Wheeler, of Harrison, Johnny Wheeler of Green Forest, and Jim Wheeler of Virginia; along with a host of aunts, cousins, nieces, and nephews.

A memorial visitation will be on Tuesday, October 29, 2024 from 5:00 to 7:00 PM at Coffman Funeral Home of Harrison.
