Obituary

Billie Carolyn Yancey, of St. Joe, Arkansas, went home to be with the Lord on Saturday, April 8, 2023 at home.  She was 82.

The daughter of James Melvin Fowler and Madge (Henley) Fowler was born June 1, 1940 at St. Joe.  She was a lifelong resident of Searcy County and a longtime member of the Ozark Life United Pentecostal Church of Pindall.  She was also a member of Stepping Stones EHC.

Billie was the rock of her family.  Her kids and her grandkids were her everything and she treasured spending time with them.  She was a strong, devoted Christian, reading her Bible daily.  She was a constant and faithful prayer warrior for her family.  Billie had a contagious smile and left a lasting impression on everyone she met.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, William Yancey; a daughter, Debbie Gammill; a brother, Robert Fowler; her grandmother, Rozella Fowler; and her first cousin that she loved like a sister, Carolyn Reeves.

Billie is survived by three children, Stanton Yancey and wife Christene, Denton Yancey, and Melanie Kyle and husband Jeremy; son-in-law, David Gammill; sisters-in-law, Lorraine Fowler and Rosalee Taylor (Duford); brother-in-law, Eddie Yancey (Mary Ann); 11 grandchildren, Yancey, James, Chance, Cassie, Chase, Chyene, Chelsea, Hayden, Landon, Caroline, and Kinsley; 15 great grandchildren, Brooklyn, Kennedy, Kreed, Chloe, Blakely, Ben, Emma, Aria, Ayden, Hailey, Keagan, Addy, Eli, Ashlynn, and Jace.  She is also survived by a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, dear friends and her church family.
