Bill Pond, age 77 of Lead Hill, Arkansas passed away Wednesday, December 5, 2012 at North Arkansas Regional Medical Center in Harrison, Arkansas.
The son of Charles Hubert and Francis Ruth (Wiggins) Pond was born May 2, 1935 in Borger, Texas.
He was a member of Diamond City Baptist Church and the VFW. He served in the U.S. Marine Corps and was a farmer. He was an avid bowler and golfer and also enjoyed dancing and watching the Dallas Cowboys.
He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, R.L. Pond.
Survivors are his wife of 54 years, June (Reed) Pond of the home; children, Eddy Pond of Nashville, Tennessee, Billie Pond and husband Rob Borland of Hilltop, Arkansas and Sammie O'Brain and husband Herb of Lead Hill; brothers, Charles Pond of Yuma, Arizona, Emmett Pond of Rolla, Missouri and Bruce Pond of Amarillo, Texas; sisters, Sammie Suggs of Amarillo, Texas, Bobbie Bible of Capps, Arkansas, and Ernie Costley of Amarillo, Texas; four grandchildren, Tish Holt, Casey Riddle, Adam O'Brain, and Ashely O'Brain; and four great-grandchildren, Sheldon and Tatum Holt, Kaylee O'Brain, and Jordan Derrick.
Visitation ass Friday, December 7, 2012 at Coffman Funeral Home in Harrison.
Service was Saturday, December 8, 2012 at Diamond City Baptist Church with Rev. Ed LaRow and Rev. Terry Eddings officiating.
Burial followed in Cedar Grove Cemetery at Lead Hill with Casey Riddle, Warren Holt, Sheldon Holt, Tatum Holt, Neal Derrick, Keith Stewart, and Kenny DeYoung serving as pallbearers.
Honorary pallbearers were Adam O'Brain, the Diamond City/Lead Hill Rescue Team and NARMC EMS.
