Obituary

William "Bill" Dove, age 78, of Harrison, Arkansas passed away at home on Thursday, February 5, 2026.

William Forbes Dove was born in Chicago, Illinois on October 15, 1947 to parents John and Eleanor Dove. Along with his brother Bob and sister Debbie, Bill grew up in Lombard, a Chicago suburb.

In the 1950s, Bill roamed everywhere on his bicycle, played with friends from school, and was called home for dinner by his dad blowing a London police whistle. In high school, Bill was a 'cool guy', playing in a popular local band and hosting parties in the family basement. He loved cars. One after another, he had a Pontiac GTO, a Corvette, and an Oldsmobile convertible.

After high school, Bill worked in the meat department at Dominick's Finer Foods where he met Sandy. Bill and Sandy married and became parents to their first child, Bill, before moving from the Chicago area to Harrison, Arkansas in 1978. Bill continued his career as a butcher at Consumers, Newton's Processing then Hudson's Grocery before purchasing Miguel's Mexican Villa in 1993. The original location served the busy lunch crowd for many years, often with a line out the door while the whole family worked together in very close quarters. Bill opened a second location in what was then the Younes Shopping Center with son Jonathan leading the charge. After ten years, the original Miguel's closed, giving Bill more freedom to do what he loved most, visiting with customers while Jonathan managed and Anna served. Never did a lunch or dinner shift pass without someone asking for Bill. Most would say he was almost as popular as the salsa and cheese dip. When Miguel's closed, Bill returned to Hudson's, in the produce department, not because he needed to work, but because he missed daily conversations with the people of Harrison, some who had become as close as family over the last 26 years.

Bill enjoyed woodworking, building furniture for his family with the help of Brian Harness. His passion for music continued his entire life, whether it was playing with a praise team at church or the music heard throughout the Dove home. He also loved working outdoors, planting flowers and landscaping.

Bill is preceded in death by his parents John and Eleanor Dove; his sister Debbie Dove; and his niece, Karen Cabral.

Bill is survived by his children, Bill (Jennifer) Dove of Greenwood, Missouri, Jonathan (Jessyka) Dove of Harrison, Dave (Elizabeth) Dove of Branson, Missouri, Dan (Kim) Dove of Seymour, Missouri, and Anna (Andrew) Manning of Harrison; sixteen grandchildren, Tayven (Savannah), Eshen, Adrey (Emma), Evelyn, Joyanna, Damaris, Noble, Savanna, Karlyn, Brinkley, Breckin, Aubrey, Fallon, Darcy, Cullen, and Percy Quinn; one great grandchild, Ronan; his brother, Bob (Kathy) Dove of Glenview, Illinois; niece, Laura (Bo) Sherman of Hudson, Massachusetts; cousins, Dick Moulding of Northampton, Massachusetts and John Moulding of Walnut Creek, California; Sandra Hudson of Marshall; extended family and a host of friends, loyal customers and customers who became family.
