Obituary

Beverly (Pennington) Methvin, of Harrison, AR, walked into the welcoming arms of her savior Jesus and her late husband, JC, on January 16, 2025.

She was born in St. Joe, Arkansas on August 21, 1936 to Everett and Joella Pennington, the oldest of 5 siblings.

As was common to that time, her family lived in various states wherever work could be found.  Moving back to Arkansas in her teens, Beverly met JC at Bruno School.  They married in 1953 and spent 70 years together.  For the next several years she and JC lived where work could be found.  Eventually making their way to California, they started their family and then returned home to Arkansas.  Beverly and JC worked hard to care for their growing family.  Beverly worked a short time at Wests Department store but spent the majority of her time being a mother to Cliff, Mark, Glen, and Chelli and helping with the cattle, hay, chickens and other farm chores.  She and her family attended Grubb Springs Baptist Church, Eagle Heights Baptist Church, and Bear Creek Springs Baptist Church.

Beverly enjoyed hosting many holiday and family events, tending her beautiful flowers, taking vacations, and thoroughly enjoyed spending time with her grand and great-grandchildren. Her generosity, gentleness, and graciousness touched so many lives.  She and JC were most definitely examples of the love of Christ.

She was preceded in death by her parents; three brothers, Willard, Jim, and Dennis; her husband, JC; and one son, Glen.

Survivors include one sister, Brenda; sons, Cliff (Lisa) and Mark (Charlotte); daughter, Chelli (George); daughter-in-law, Phyllis; ten grandchildren; 20 great grandchildren; and many other family members that she dearly loved.

The family wishes to send their deepest appreciation to the kind and caring staff at Countryside Assisted Living.

Visitation will be from 1:00 to 2:00 PM followed by the funeral service both on Tuesday, January 21, 2025 at Coffman Funeral Home of Harrison.  Mike Horne will officiate.

Memorial contributions may be sent to Three Wishes for Ruby's Residents, 102 W Stephenson, Harrison, AR 72601 or Informed Choices Women's Center, PO Box 545, Harrison, AR 72602.
