Obituary

Betty Sheldon, 86, of Low Gap, Arkansas, passed away peacefully on Friday, February 13, 2026.

She was born on April 7, 1939. Betty was the daughter of Mary Louise Burdick and Roy Burdick.  She lived a life centered on faith, family, and simple joys. She was an avid churchgoer, and her faith guided her through every season of life.  Her devotion to the Lord and to her family was the foundation upon which she built her home and her legacy.

Betty found great happiness in tending to her garden, nurturing flowers and plants with loving care.  She enjoyed crocheting beautiful handmade pieces, often gifting them to family and friends.  She was also a wonderful cook, known for preparing meals that gathered loved ones around the table and made a house feel like home.

Betty is preceded in death by her parents, Roy and Mary Louise Burdick; her beloved husband, Carl Sheldon; her cherished children, Leroy Ace, Bryan Lin, and Nellie Rose; her siblings, Roy Burdick and Mary Mitchel; her great-granddaughter, Hannah Hieden; and her son-in-law, Jackie Fears.

Betty is survived by her loving children, Emma Griffith, Kim Fears, and David Sheldon; her sisters, Molly Hudson and Bonnie Ogden; 14 grandchildren; 2 step-grandchildren; numerous great-grandchildren; 5 great-great-grandchildren; along with extended family and dear friends.

Betty's life was one of resilience, devotion, and quiet strength.  Though she endured deep loss, her faith never wavered.  She will be remembered for her gentle spirit, her steadfast love, and the legacy of faith and family she leaves behind.

The funeral service will be 11:00 AM, Wednesday, February 18, 2026, at the Low Gap Gospel Church with Pastor Kelvin House officiating. Burial will follow in Low Gap Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 10:00 to 11:00 AM before the service on Wednesday.

Pallbearers will be family and friends.

Honorary pallbearer is David Sheldon.
