Betty Ruth Rogers passed away on Friday, December 29, 2023 at Chapel Ridge in Fort Smith, Arkansas, at the age of 89. Born on March 20, 1934, she was the daughter of the late Hugh and Tennessee Massengale, of Harrison, Arkansas.

Betty was a devout humanitarian and dedicated her life to caring for others. Betty was a longtime volunteer at the Fort Smith Community Activity Center and loving stay-at-home wife, mother, and Nanna.  Betty's food, love, and warmth made her feel like home to everyone who knew her.

Betty's greatest commitment was always to her husband, Gene. The pair enjoyed traveling, game nights with friends, and spending time with their grandchildren.

Betty is survived by her daughter, Susan Scott of Fort Smith, Arkansas; her son, Dustin Rogers of Van Buren, Arkansas; her grandchildren Lindsay Scott, Ashlyne and Nick Switzer, and Andrew Rogers; and three great-granddaughters.

Betty was preceded in death by her parents, her sister Ruby Jean, and her devoted husband of 52 years, Gene Thomas Rogers.

A funeral service will be held on Thursday, January 4th at 11 a.m. at Coffman Funeral Home in Harrison, AR. Preceding the service will be a visitation, beginning at 10 a.m.  Burial will follow the service at White Church Cemetery.

The family wants to thank the caregivers of Chapel Ridge and Visiting Angels in Fort Smith.
