Betty June Evans, age 88, of Harrison, Arkansas, passed away peacefully in the loving arms of her son, Brian Gene, with her daughter-in-law, Bertha Marie by her side on Monday, March 9, 2026 at 7:07:37 AM at Hillcrest Home.

The daughter of William “Bill” and Margarette (Kappen) Johnson was born near Berryville, Arkansas on December 17, 1937.

She moved back to Arkansas two years ago, after living many years in Abilene, Texas.

Betty was a wonderful loving and caring mother. She was compassionate and understanding. She loved to sew. She enjoyed writing lessons from the Bible.

She was preceded in death by her parents, William “Bill” and Margarette Johnson and two brothers, Bob Johnson and Dale Johnson.

Betty is survived by two daughters, Cheryl Ann Evans Ritterling and husband Bill Ritterling and Deborah (Debbie) Lynn Evans; her son, Brian Gene Evans and wife, Bertha Marie Evans; her sister, Juanita Reagan and husband Terry Reagan; and a host of nieces, nephews, and extended relatives.

Private burial will be at Western Grove Cemetery under the direction of Coffman Funeral Home of Harrison.

The family wishes to extend a heartfelt thank-you to the nurses and staff of Hillcrest Home for the wonderful, compassionate care provided for Betty while she was there.
