Betty Jean (Burleson) Armstrong peacefully left this earth on January 12, 2026, in Harrison, Arkansas at the age of 81.

Betty Jean was born in Coalgate, Oklahoma on February 8, 1944. She was preceded death by her parents, David Burleson and Jean Pebworth; and her sister, Patti brown. She was survived by her daughters, Tamy Richardson and Annabell Callison; her sons, James Richardson and Bruce Hamil Jr.; and many grandchildren and great grandchildren.

Betty Jean loved life and loved to live it. She loved all things that sparkled but her smile was always the biggest spark! She lit up a room as soon as she smiled. She loved to sit on the porch with a cup of coffee watching the sunrise as her favorite music videos played on her tv. She loved to cruise the back roads of Wilburton, including, the dirt roads through the mountains and to the lake to sit with her fur babies to watch the sparkling water until the sun set. She loved to shop and if she really liked something she would get one of every color. She once came home with 7 pairs of flip flops.

Betty Jean loved her fur babies and anyone else's too! If she saw an animal without water, she would stop to get water for them one way or another. As much as she loved the fur babies, she loved her children and grandchildren more.

Betty Jean was baptized on May 25, 1999, at Lake Wayne Wallace, by Pastor Sterling Taylor with Church of the Rock.

Betty spent the last few years with her oldest daughter, Tamy, who made sure Betty Jean still got to go cruising with her fur babies and the music up loud. Often enjoying a burger and an ice cream cone and regular coke (never diet) from Sonic. She was proud of her Choctaw heritage.

Betty Jean passed quietly in her home while sleeping, with her loyal fur babies by her side!

She was loved tremendously and will truly be missed.
