Bertie Modina Taylor, age 94 of Jasper, Arkansas passed away Wednesday, September 19, 2012 at the Newton County Nursing Home in Jasper.

The daughter of Charlie and Miely (Harris) King was born March 30, 1918 at Murray, Arkansas.

Bertie was a Baptist; a member of the Lone Beech United Baptist Church and a housewife. She had lived in Wichita, Kansas for about 16 years and the rest of her life was spent in Newton County.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Orvind Taylor; two brothers, Buster King and Ervin King; sister, Dorothy Henderson; an infant sister and a daughter-in-law, Sue Taylor.

Survivors are her sons and daughters-in-law, Maurice and Ernestine Taylor of Batavia, Joe and Shirley Taylor of Harrison, Clinton and Norma Taylor of Harrison, Mac and MaDonna Taylor of Bentonville, Sam and Phyllis Taylor of Parthenon and James and Sharon Taylor of Harrison; eleven grandchildren, several great-grandchildren and three great-great-grandchildren.

Funeral services were Saturday, September 22, 2012 at Coffman Funeral Home Chapel in Jasper with Bobby Young and Nelson Henderson officiating. Burial followed in Union Hill Cemetery at Parthenon under the direction of Coffman Funeral Home of Jasper.

Pallbearers were grandsons.

Visitation was Friday, September 21, 2012 at the funeral home.
