Bertha Mae Smith, of Olvey, Arkansas went home to be with the Lord on Thursday, February 18, 2021 at home surrounded by her family at the age of 94.

The daughter of George and Anne (Maxwell) Ashberger was born on July 27, 1926 in Axtell, Kansas.  She lived in Boone County most of her life and worked at Levi Strauss and the canning factory in Olvey.

Bertha enjoyed sewing, reading, word puzzles and cooking.  She was a good mother and was always willing to help any way she could.  She loved her family, especially her grandkids, great grands and great great grands.

She was preceded in death by her husband, John Smith of 60 years in 2004; a daughter, Carolyn Keys; 3 grandkids, Christina, Donnie and Kevin; 2 sons-in-law, David Bailey and Norman Greenlee; and a sister and 6 brothers.

Bertha is survived by her 13 children, Shirley Bailey, Mary Lou (James) Edwards, Bobby (June) Smith, Johnny (Darlene) Smith, Ruby Greenlee, Fern (Jim) Kimbrell, Sharon (Jim) Rogers, Danny (Sandy) Smith, Patty (Ernie) Dean, David (Barbara) Smith, Randy Smith, Nancy (Donald) Snow and Sheila (Clyde) Martin; 35 grandkids, 82 great grandkids, 27 great great grandkids and a host of nieces, nephews and extended relatives who loved her and will miss her.

Funeral will be at 10 AM, Wednesday, February 24, 2021 at Coffman Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. James Edwards officiating.  Burial will follow at Warner Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 5-7 PM Tuesday at the funeral home.

Pallbearers are Cody Keys, Dennis Bailey, J.W. Smith, Cimmaron Smith, Michael Edwards and Danny Smith.  Honorary pallbearers are Wayne Bailey, Mitchell Smith, Sampson Smith, Jared Adams and Earnest Dean.
