Barney Doyle Tyner, age 88 of St. Joe, Arkansas passed away Sunday, January 25, 2015 in Harrison, after and extended illness.
He was born in St. Joe, Arkansas on September 13, 1926 to Jess and Bessie (Wyatt) Tyner.
Barney was married to Veleda Watkins on January 12, 1952 in Harrison, Arkansas. Their marriage spanned over 63 years, and from coast to coast. He was a long time member of Capps Full Gospel Church, his infallible faith and acerbic demeanor will be remembered. Barney was a veteran of World War II, serving in the African and European Theaters. Receiving the World War II Victory Medal, European-African Middle Eastern Theater Ribbon.
He was preceded in death by his parents; a son, Phillip Anthony, two brothers, Densil Tyner, Frank Tyner and his wife, Marge; an infant brother, Charlie; a sister, Hazel Tyner Campbell; an infant sister, Inas Belle; one grandson, Brenton James Tyner, and his father and mother-in-law, Henry and Minnie Watkins.
His survivors include his wife, Veleda; his daughter, Elizabeth Lange, and husband Steve of Providence Forge, VA; a grandson, Stephen and his wife Rebecca, and their children, Alex, Cainan, and Trinity. Two sons, Barney Doyle Junior, of Senoia, GA, his wife Freda Louise, son Christopher; daughter Patricia Lowery, her husband Josh and their children Anna-Bell and Devlin James. John Paul and his wife Mary Elizabeth of Western Grove, AR; one sister, Lurline Kovich of San Jose, CA; brother-in-law, Henley Campbell of St. Joe, AR, sister-in-law, Janavee Tyner of St. Joe, AR, and may other relatives and friends.
Cremation and arrangements by Coffman Funeral Home of Harrison.
There will be no visitation.
Graveside services will be held at a date to be determined.
