Barbara Lee Hunt of Diamond City, Arkansas went to be with the Lord on Sunday, February 28, 2016 at Hillcrest Home in Harrison at the age of 82 .

The daughter of Emerson and Marie (Hale) Walters was born June 29, 1933 at Kansas City, Missouri.

She was a homemaker and a member of the First Baptist Church of Lead Hill. Barbara grew up in Taney County, MO. She married Bill Hunt on February 19, 1948, and they spent several years living in Kansas City. They returned to Harrison in 1967 and have been living in Diamond City since 1992. She enjoyed being outdoors and was an avid bow hunter. She also loved tournament bass fishing and spent many years traveling from Canada to Mexico with Bill camping, fishing and hunting.

She was preceded in death by her son, Timothy Byron Hunt in May of 2015, as well as 6 brothers and 2 sisters.

Barbara is survived by her husband of 68 years, Bill, of the home; her children, Roger Hunt of Lee's Summit, MO; Bonnie Shepard of Diamond City, AR; Joyce Conner of Bella Vista, AR and Jim Hunt of Harrison, AR; her daughter-in-law, Maria Hunt of Fontana, CA; 12 grandchildren, 15 great grandchildren and many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends who will miss her dearly.

Services are Friday, March 4, 2016 at 10:00 A.M. at Coffman Chapel in Harrison with Bro. Matthew Kerley officiating. Burial will follow at Maplewood Cemetery in Harrison.

Pallbearers are her grandsons and great-grandsons. Honorary pallbearers are Bro. Todd Hunt and the staff of Hillcrest Home and Hospice House.

Visitation is Thursday from 6-8PM at the funeral home.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made in her honor to the Wounded Warriors Project.
