Obituary

Barbara Jean "Barbie" Hunt, of Omaha, Arkansas, passed away Wednesday, August 30, 2017 at Cox Medical Center in Branson at the age of 58.

The daughter of Jerry and Betty Jo (Collins) Johnson was born at Springfield, Missouri on November 26, 1958.

She was a resident of this area most of her life and worked at Cedar Junction.   She loved playing bingo, fishing, crocheting and watching NCIS and Law and Order-Criminal Minds.  She adored her dogs, Cinnamon, Snoopy, Angel and Gizmo and her cat, Snow White.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, John Earl Hunt on July 20, 2017 and her father and mother-in-law, Benjamin and Georgia Hunt.

Barbara is survived by her sons, David Hunt and wife Sylvia of Omaha and John Hunt and wife Bekah of Harrison; her brother, Doug Johnson and wife Lorna of Omaha; two sisters, Joyce Groner of Omaha and Sharon Goddard and husband Doug of Fountain, CO; five grandchildren, Katelyn, Faith, Jackie, Madelyn and Andrew-James; an adopted son, Carl Ringberg and wife Charity of Savage Minnesota; her brothers and sisters-in-law, Doyle and Leslie Hunt of Valley Springs, Kenny Hunt (Renee) of Harrison and Diane Henson of Omaha and many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends who will miss her dearly.

Celebration of life services are Saturday, September 9, 2017 from 11:00AM to 12:00PM at Burlington Baptist Church near Omaha.

"Barbie" as her friends and family knew her, is gone; but the memories and love will go on.  Barbie was a sassy lass who would stand up to a giant if it was after someone she loved.  She was as tough as they came and such a fighter.  Barbie's sons have had a rough few weeks and the only comfort they have is knowing their mom and dad are back together, whole and blessed.  If you needed her, she was there, if it was a shoulder to cry on or the last dime in her pocket, she took care of it.  You didn't stand in her way if a bingo hall was close.  If she was playing her Facebook games, you didn't pass her in levels, she would always be one step ahead of you or make one of her boys pass the level for her.  Barbie could out-fish anyone and was never afraid to tell you about it.

Barbie will be missed, but we thank God we had her for the time we did.

In lieu of flowers, you may send donations to the family to help defray final expenses in care of David Hunt, 15965A Denver Road, Omaha, AR, 72662.
