Barbara (King) Harding, age 90 of Harrison, Arkansas died at her home Thursday, June 17, 2010.
She was born July 19, 1919 in Pleasant Valley, Minnesota to Robert and Martha (Morris) King.
She graduated from Stewartville High School in Minnesota in 1937 and attended business school in Mason City.
Barbara was employed as Advertising Manager for Sears in Austin, Minnesota for over ten years. She had been an Arkansas resident since 1984. She was a member of Bellefonte United Methodist Church, former President of Bellefonte United Methodist Women's Group, member of Extension Homemakers Club and Patchworkers Quilt Guild. Many knew her as the "Ouchie Baby" lady. She sewed over 10,000 little dolls for the Boone County Health Department to be given out to children getting their shots. She was also a quilter and an artist.
Survivors are three daughters, Linda and husband, Milford Nelson of Austin, Minnesota, Carol Johnson and Roberta Hansen of White Bear Lake, Minnesota; one son, David Hansen and wife, Nora of Lake City, Florida; eleven grandchildren; sixteen great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; sisters-in-law, Mary Wilma Harding, Virginia Ruth Thomason, and Marie and husband, Elmer Griever all of Harrison; and former husband, Robert Hansen of Austin, Minnesota.
Her parents preceded her in death along with her husbands, Theodore Myhre in 1986 and Troy Harding in 2009; her sister, Hazel Tjepkes McCall; a daughter, Patricia Hansen Schocker; one granddaughter; and one great-grandson.
Cremation and arrangements are being handled by Coffman Funeral Home in Harrison.
Memorial service were Saturday, June 26, 2010 at the Coffman Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Mark Donald officiating.
Burial followed in Maplewood Cemetery.
There was visitation one hour prior to the service.
