Barbara Jean Christian, 71 of Harrison, Arkansas passed away Monday, September 17, 2018 at home surrounded by her family.
The daughter of Rayburn and Ula (Miller) Houston was born September 21, 1946 at Claremont, New Hampshire.
Barbara worked at Dartmouth Hitchcock Medical Center as a housekeeping attendant for 13 years, and was very proud of her work. She was a longtime resident of Canaan, New Hampshire before moving to the Ozarks to live near her daughter the last 18 months. She attended Crossroads Community Church.
She enjoyed camping, paint by numbers and traveling with her husband for long haul trucking for 6 years until his retirement. She loved race cars and NASCAR, she was the #1 fan of her son, Russell and the #07 Racing Team. Barbara was a lover of animals, especially her cats, Tiggy and Punkin.
Barbara was a devoted wife, mother and sister. She was proud of her children and their accomplishments. She loved her family and they will miss her dearly.
She was preceded in death by her father and mother, her son, Joseph Rayburn Christian, a sister, Beverly Ashey and her loving cat, Cutie.
Barbara is survived by her husband, Russell Christian, Sr. of Harrison, AR; her son, Russell Christian, Jr., and wife Andrea of Canaan NH; her daughters, Kathleen Carter and husband Mark of Mansfield, MA and Kimberley Dyer and husband Rickey of Harrison, AR; two brothers, David Picard of Claremont, NH and Mark Houston and wife Denise of Canaan, NH; her brothers-in-law, Edward Ashey of Lebanon, NH, Scott Christian and wife Joan of Canaan, NH and Jim Christian and wife Barbara of Woodsville, NH; seven grandchildren, Michael Dyer, Blake Carter, Alexandrah Carter, Brianna Turner, Vyasa Molloy, Desirae Molloy and Josephine Christian; six great grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends who will mourn her passing.
A private family celebration of life will be held at a later date.
