IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Barbara Ann
Bennett
January 4, 1931 – October 21, 2023
Barbara Ann Bennett, 92, of Harrison, passed away on Saturday, October 21, 2023 into the loving arms of Jesus.
She was the seventh child of 12 born to Horace and Minnie (Whalin) Tettleton. Barbara was born on January 4, 1931 and was raised in Springfield, Missouri.
Barbara married James Eugene Bennett on October 9, 1948. She and Jim moved to Harrison in 1958 where they raised their five children.
Barbara was a Godly woman, who would burst into song with just a little encouragement. She loved the gospel songs she grew up with. It was amazing that even with her dementia she could recall the words to those hymns. The love she had for her family was fierce and her love was unconditional.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 70 years, Jim; daughter, Dorinda Kay Sanders; great granddaughter, Shelby Miles; her parents, Horace and Minnie Tettleton; her in-laws, James Burley and Vanetta Bennett; brothers, Stanley, Lloyd, Ed, Joe, and John Tettleton; and her sisters, Maxine Davis, Pauline Clayton, Peggy Rippe, and Sandy Roberts.
Survivors include one daughter, Lana Trublood; three sons, James Bennett (Susie), Willie Bennett (Paulette), and Chuck Bennett (Debbie); grandchildren, Stephanie Miles, Chris Sanders, Missy Trublood-Criner (Tommy), Brad Trublood (Angela), Blake Bennett (Tera), Madelyn Bennett, and Amy Dorl; great grandchildren, Brandon Criner (Melissa), Will Criner, Kyla and Mason Trublood, Megan Owens, Bradley and Blair Bennett, and Rilea and Reagan Dorl; one great great granddaughter, Everleigh Kay; two sisters, Betty Jairett and Sharon Sartin (Jack); and many nieces and nephews.
A special thank you to Dr. Blake Chitsey and the ICU nursing staff at NARMC for the compassion and care shown to our mother.
Memorial Service will be Saturday, October 28, 2023 at 1:00 PM at Alpena First Baptist Church with Bro. Wes Cantwell officiating.
