Avis E. Linker, 88, an 8-year resident of The Holmstad Retirement Community in Batavia, IL and formerly of Harrison, AR peacefully went home to Jesus on Sunday, May 17, 2026, at Michaelsen Health Center in Batavia, IL.

Avis was the heart of her family and a friend to everyone who knew her. She had a warm smile, a caring spirit, and a way of making every person feel welcomed and loved. Her home was always filled with laughter, kindness and the comforting smell of something delicious cooking in the kitchen. She was an incredible cook whose meals brought family and friends together and created memories that will be cherished forever.

More than anything, Avis loved her family. She was a devoted mother to Harley (Sherry) Linker, Mark (Cathy) Linker, Mike Linker, and Bonnie (Fabio Vellega) Linker, a proud grandmother to Allison, Ashley (Justin), Brittany, Christopher (Rebecca), Megan (David) and a loving great-grandmother to Zarek, Vincenzo, Titus, Ezio, Gianna, Vito, Madeline, Lacey, Isabella, Asher, Myla, Crew and arriving soon baby girl Dohse. Her loving and gentle presence touched generations and will continue to live on in the hearts of those she leaves behind.

She is preceded in death by her beloved husband, Harley, whom she loved dearly, as well as her parents, Arthur and Maggie Blackwell, and her siblings, Charles Blackwell, Harold Blackwell, John Blackwell, Wanda Sumney, Edna Mitchell, Joe Blackwell, Laura Joslyn, Paul Blackwell and Reba Blackwell.

Though our hearts are broken, there is comfort in the beautiful memories she gave us, the family meals shared around the table, the stories, laughter, and the unconditional love she so freely gave.

Visitation will be held from 4:00 P.M. until 6:30 P.M. Friday, May 22, 2026, at Moss Family Funeral Homes, 209 South Batavia Ave. Batavia, IL. A funeral service will follow the visitation at 6:30 P.M.

A second visitation and funeral service will be held Wednesday, May 27, at 1:00 P.M, until 3:00 P.M. with a funeral service to start at 3:00 P.M. at Coffman Funeral Home, 501 Old Bellefonte Rd, Harrison, AR 72601. Interment will follow at Maple Leaf Cemetery in Harrison Arkansas.

The family would like to thank The Michealsen Health Center for their care and compassion.

She will be deeply missed, forever loved and never forgotten.
