Obituary

Audrey A. Stone-Whiteley went home to be with our Lord on Thursday, April 30, 2009. She was born on April 23, 1921 in Ft. Douglas, Arkansas to Doy and Ora Wheeler Carlton. In 1942, she married Harley Stone and lived on Piney Creek in Limestone, Arkansas. After Harley's death in 1985, she moved to Springdale. Audrey Stone married Arthur Whiteley in 1998 and he died in 2003. She returned to Newton County last year and lived in the Valley View apartments where she made many friends.

She was preceded in death by a baby sister, Pauline Carlton; both parents, and both husbands.

She is survived by her only child, Greta Ann Stone Dean and son-in-law, Ray Dean of Deer, Arkansas; two grandchildren, Becky and husband, Loy Counts, Mike and wife, Trish Dean; two great grandchildren, Courtnie Dean and Tanner Counts; three step great-grandchildren; and one step great-great granddaughter.
She is also survived by two sisters, Omolene Peterson of Torrance, California, and Aileen and husband, Johnny Anderson of Long Beach, California; many nieces, nephews, family, and friends.

Many thanks for the loving care of the staff at Hospice House in Harrison.

Visitation was Sunday, May 3, 2009 at Coffman Funeral Home in Jasper, Arkansas.
Services were Monday, May 4, 2009 at Coffman Funeral Home, with Brother Loy Counts and Brother Clark Snow presiding.

Pallbearers were Mike Dean, Loy Counts, Tanner Counts, Von Dean, James Winfield, and Dewain Roberts. Honorary pallbearers were Roy Clayborn, Johnny Bohannon, David Faught, Mike Ardolino, and Paul Allen Stone.

Burial was at Ft. Douglas Cemetery.

Audrey was a Christian, and is now enjoying her new home with the Lord. We love her, and she will be gretly missed until we can join with her again.
