Arvin B. Slape, age 75 of Compton, Arkansas went to be with his Lord and Savior, February 3, 2014.
He was born August 8, 1938 at Jesse, Arkansas to B. and Albertie (Bartlett) Slape.
Arvin retired from Anchor Die Cast in 1993 after thirty years of service to the company. He then began farming full time and enjoying his grandchildren. He was a faithful member of the Hill Top Church of Christ.
He was preceded in death by his precious granddaughter, Alyssa Paige Slape; his parents; a sister, Lois Underdown; and a nephew, Dearl Underdown.
He is survived by his loving wife of 55 years, Anna Marie (Deakins) Slape of the home; two sons, Timothy Slape and wife Gayle and Keith Slape and wife Angela all of Compton; one daughter, Tina and husband Gregory Farmer of Harrison; grandchildren, Daniel and wife Gwen of Mesa, AZ, Clara Slape of Fort Smith, Kent and wife Katie of Bentonville, Cami Farmer of Harrison, and adopted grandson, Jade Carter of Russellville; three great-grandchildren, Abigail, Braxton, and Alyssa and one great-grandchild soon to come; and his aunt, Cleo Bartlett of Jerome, ID.
Visitation was Friday, February 7, 2014 with the service Saturday, February 8, 2014 both at Coffman Funeral Home Chapel in Harrison. David Good will officiate.
Burial followed in Plumlee Cemetery with pallbearers being Phillip Deakins, Kenny Underdown, Gregory Farmer, Daniel Slape, Kent Slape, and Jade Carter.
Honorary pallbearers were Jasper Bartlett, Darwin Cash, Richard Flippo, Walker Deakins, Luke Hinchman, Bob Bartlett, Alan Carter, and Clell Lee Deakins.
