Arthur Allen Moody, age 81 of North Little Rock, Arkansas, passed away August 5, 2009 in Jasper, AR.
The son of Augustus James and Mary Edna (Beard) Moody, he was born November 21, 1927 in Little Rock, AR.
He was a Retired Chief Petty Officer of the U. S. Navy Seabees. During his service, he received several honors and awards including: Republic of Vietnam (RVN) Gallantry Cross Unit Citation; Combat Action Ribbon; RVN Merit Unit CIT DA Nang Act Medal; Republic of Vietnam (RVN) 1st Cl Color W/Palm; Vietnam Service Medal; Republic of Vietnam Campaign Medal; National Defense Service Medal W/Star; and Navy Unit Commendation.
His parents and one brother, Charles "Dude" Moody preceded him in death.
Survivors are his wife, Linda Moody of the home; a son, Rick Moody and wife, Michele of Benton, AR; daughters, Mary Lynn O'Reilly and husband, Terry of Flowery Branch, GA, Peggy Matteoni and husband, John of Jasper, AR; step-daughters, Christy Chaumont and husband Brad of Turkey Creek, LA, Cindy Fox and husband, Steve of Vilonia, AR, and Dana Ball and husband, Junior of Little Rock, AR; a brother, Donald Moody of Hot Springs, AR, and a sister, Sarah James and husband, Kenneth of Pine Bluff, AR; along with 7 grandchildren.
Service and interment was at Arkansas Veterans Memorial Cemetery in North Little Rock, AR, Monday, August 10, 2009 with full military honors.
