Norman Arlo Breedlove, of Wayton, Arkansas, went home to be with the Lord, December 5, 2011 surrounded by family and friends at Washington Regional Medical Center in Fayetteville, Arkansas. He was 84 years old.
Arlo was born July 26th, 1927 in Deer, Arkansas. He served in the United States Army; was a long time member of the Arkansas Cattleman's Association and worked with the USDA Farm Service Agency for 18 years. He retired from the Arkansas Highway Department after 29 years of service. He then began focusing on his lifelong passion of farming and agriculture. Above all, Arlo enjoyed spending time with his loving wife, family and friends.
He was preceded in death by his mother and father, Bertha and Grover Breedlove of Deer, as well as four brothers and two sisters.
He is survived by his wife of fity-six years, Alta Fern Breedlove; two sons, Danny Breedlove of Wayton and David Breedlove and wife, Sandra of Harrison; one brother and sister-in-law, Jack and June Breedlove of Vinita, Oklahoma; two sisters, Perilla Dodson and Imogene Williams both of Deer, Arkansas; four grandchildren, Dusty Breedlove and wife, Britney, Haley Breedlove, Ashley Clifford and husband, Boone and Justin Campbell and wife, Heather; and three great-grandchildren, Beckham Campbell, Micah Campbell and Reid Breedlove. He is also survived by honorary family members, Monte and Lisa Willis and their sons, Quentin and Brandon.
The funeral service was Friday, December 9, 2011 at Coffman Funeral Home Chapel in Jasper with Rev. Stan Taylor and Rev. Billy Paul Matlock officiating. Visitation was Thursday, December 8, 2011 at the funeral home.
Pallbearers were Danny Breedlove, David Breedlove, Monte Willis, Justin Campbell, Boone Clifford, Dusty Breedlove, Quentin Willis and Brandon Willis. Honorary pallbearers were Wes Waddell, Marcus Gordon, Bill Willis, Ed Payne, Junior Shelton, Roy Brasel, Oscar Shelton, Frank Breedlove, Kevin Billings, Bobby Young, Ertle Glenn Casey and Ronnie Brown.
Arlo was laid to rest in Snow Cemetery at Wayton.
Following the burial service, family and friends were encouraged to join at the Wayton Community building to celebrate his life and legacy.
All of the Breedlove family would like to thank Dr. Mears, Dr. Reece, Dr. Ferguson and all of their staff for all the years of caring service to our lost loved one, Arlo Breedlove.
