Born in Freeport, Illinois, and raised in Mount Carroll, Illinois, he moved to California, where he raised his family. He was a resident of Newton County from 1992 until his passing.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Arlington and Armella Kneale; brother, Bernie Cramer Kneale, and grandson Koby Carrol.

He is survived by his loving wife of 21 years, Brenda Kneale; brother, Collan Kneale; daughters, Armella (Kneale) and Erikk Hilgert, Joanne Kneale; Treanna (Kneale) and Josh Hart; sons, Ed Corns (Kneale); Arlan "Arlito" Kneale (Jeanine) and David Kneale; stepsons, Duane Graham (Amy); Jacob Mattix (Jennifer) and Waylon Mattix (Kelly) 14 grandchildren; five great-grandchildren and a grand dog, Jessie.

Arlie was a gifted artist and worked with other Newton County artists in the past. He saw beauty in everything nature, and this was the inspiration for most of his artistry. He loved family gatherings and loved to travel. He had a strong appreciation for humanity and believed good could be found if you paused to see. He was a person that loved deeply and believed strongly. He will be so missed by all who knew him.
