Argus Ray Lewis, age 72 of Nail, Arkansas passed away Thursday, April 2, 2015 at his home.
The son of Denver L. and Nettie F. (Woods) Lewis was born on February 5, 1943 at Mossville, Arkansas. Ray was a lifetime resident of Newton County, a farmer and store owner. He and Jan celebrated 50 years of marriage in August 2014.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Survivors are his wife Janice (Laughter) Lewis of the home; daughters and sons-in-law Barbara and Charlie Curtis of Deer, Teresa and Mark Griffin of Ozone and Lisa and Steve Adams of Deer, grandchildren Sarah and Kyle Adams, Kim and Brent Davis and Jared and Whitney Curtis; great-grandchildren Sam and Benton Davis; one uncle Rufus Lewis of California; one aunt Mabel Price of Wichita, Kansas; many cousins and other family and friends.
Funeral service was 2 P.M. Monday, April 6, 2015 at the Deer School Gymnasium with Brother Bobby Young officiating. Burial followed in Nail Cemetery.
Visitation was 5-8 P.M. Sunday, April 5, 2015 at Coffman Funeral Home Chapel in Jasper.
Pallbearers were Danny Woods, Spankie Woods, Kennie Woods, Landon Woods, Billy Woods, Kevin Robertson and Calvin Neff. Honorary pallbearers will be Bill Adams, Dorlon Brown, Donnie Edgmon, Gary Sparks and Junior Faddis.
