Annette Murray, 66, of Harrison, Arkansas passed away Friday, August 31, 2018, surrounded by her family at NorthCare Hospice House in Kansas City, Missouri.
The daughter of L.D. and Josephine (Sparks) Gass, Annette was born on December 23,1951 at Wahoo, Nebraska. She grew up around the U.S. and Europe and settled in Harrison as a teenager after her father's retirement from the U.S. Air Force. In 2016 she moved to Leavenworth, Kansas and lived there until her passing.
Annette was always a giving and caring person and lived her life devoted to her family, especially her children and her grandchildren.
She retired several years ago from a successful career as a computer programmer for various companies including Mass Merchandisers, McKesson, Millbrook, EDS, Kroger, and UNFI.
Annette was preceded in death by her parents and her grandparents, Jesse and Verna (Watson) Gass and Floyd and Noma (Hensley) Sparks all of Harrison.
She is survived by a son, Luther "Luke" Murray (Kimberly) of Broken Arrow, Oklahoma; a daughter, Christina (Crista) Butler of Leavenworth, Kansas; 2 sisters, Karen May (Butch) of Harrison and Brenda LaRue (Terry) of Rodessa, Louisiana; 8 grandchildren, Drake Butler, Tori Van Kuilenburg, Jacob Murray (Jennifer), Kalyn Gaffaney (Jordan), Blake Butler, Dakota Butler (Ann-Marie), Josephine Butler, and Kammy Murray; and 3 great-grandsons, Zane and Ian Collins and Carson Butler; and many nieces and nephews.
She will be greatly missed by all who knew her.
Visitation will be 5:00 to 7:00 P.M., Monday, September 03, 2018 at Coffman Funeral Home in Harrison, Arkansas.
Graveside services will be held at 10:00 A.M. on Tuesday, September 04, 2018 at Gass Cemetery in Omaha, Arkansas with Pastor Heath Kirkpatrick officiating.
Pallbearers include Drake Butler, Jacob Murray, Blake Butler, Dakota Butler, Todd Reynolds and Zach Reynolds.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to NorthCare Hospice House or the Glioblastoma Foundation.
