Anna Claire Elrod, age 87 of Harrison, Arkansas passed away Saturday, November 10, 2012 at Hospice of the Hills Hospice House in Harrison.

The daughter of Arthur L. and Nellie Mae (McGinnis) McNew was born June 24, 1925 in Little Rock, Arkansas.

Anna was of the Baptist Faith and attended the Pyatt Baptist Church after moving here from Searcy Arkansas. She was a resident of Bristol Pointe Health and Rehab in Harrison.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, John Thomas Elrod, brother, "Buddy" McNew; and sisters, Nancy Sue Hurst, Dorothy Louise Wilson, and Mildred Grace Williams.

She is survived by her son, John Ronald Elrod of Rose Bud, Arkansas; brothers; Willard G. McNew of Benton, Arkansas and Walter McNew of Harrison, Arkansas; one grandson, Joshua Adam Elrod, and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral service was Tuesday, November 13, 2012 at Coffman Funeral Home of Harrison with Bro. Gary Sloan officiating.

Visitation was Monday, November 12, 2012 at the funeral home.

Burial folloed in Maple Leaf Cemetery.

Pallbearers were Chris McNew, Marcus McNew, Mike McNew, Josh Elrod, Jesse Moore, and Ron Phillips.

Honorary pallbearers were the Adult Sunday School Class of Pyatt Baptist Church.

In lieu of flowers family requests donations may be made to the Gideons or to Pyatt Baptist Church.
