Anna Bettiga, age 79 of Kingsland, Georgia passed away Monday, June 14, 2010 at her home in Kingsland.
Anna was born May 30, 1931 in Buffalo, Arkansas. She was the youngest of three children.
Mrs. Bettiga spent the majority of her life in Oxnard, California where she raised her three children. She was a faithful employee of the ABEX Aerospace Corporation for more than 25 years and was the first female promoted to the rank of supervisor. While employed at ABEX, she met the "love of her life", Claudio Bettiga and married him in 1981. After retiring from ABEX, they decided to start a new life together in Harrison. They lived a loving and leisurely life together on their farm enjoying the countryside of Arkansas, traveling, and time spending time with their children and grandchildren. After Claudio passed away she decided to join her beloved daughter in Kingsland and resided with her for the past 10 years.
She was loved by many friends and family members and will be remembered lovingly for her passion for interacting with young people, her dedication and love for her family and friends, as well as her amazing flair with shoes and jewelry.
Surviving her are her three children, Tina Reid and her husband, Ronald and John Eastwood of Kingsland, George David Eastwood and wife, Nikki of Aliso-Viejo, California; four grandchildren, Angy Merola and her husband, Tony Smith, Dani Merola Baker and her husband, Lloyd, Nicole Reid Silvia and her husband, Scott and Erik Reid; and two great-grandchildren, Nico Smith and Logan Baker.
She is also survived by many other relatives, friends, and her beloved six schnauzers.
Visitation was held Thursday, June 17, 2010 at Coastal Camden Funeral Home in Kingsland. Graveside services were Wednesday, June 23, 2010 at Hopewell Cemetery near Harrison. Pastor Dewey McGarrah officiated.
In lieu of flowers donations may be sent to Hospice of the Golden Isles located in Brunswick, Georgia or to the Camden County Humane Society in Kingsland, Georgia.
