Alta Pearl Wise, age 97 of Jasper, passed away Tuesday, February 14, 2023, at the Newton County Nursing Home in Jasper.

The daughter of Walter and Linda (Villines) Wishon was born January 6, 1926, in Low Gap, AR.

Alta enjoyed sewing, crocheting, quilting, gardening, and fishing.  She worked at the Ozark Café for many years and volunteered at the Food Room in Jasper. She also attended the Assembly of God Church.

She is preceded in death by her parents; her husband of more than 50 years, Walter Wise; and 7 siblings.

Alta is survived by her children, Sonny Wise of Bellefonte, AR and Donna Madewell of Independence, MO; her grandchildren, Melissa Stephens (Ryan) of Lee Summit, MO, and James Wise (Kim) of Garland, TX; and her great-grandchildren, Trevor and Cameron Wise, and Tanner and Harper Stephens.

The funeral service will be 12:00 PM Saturday, February 18, 2023, at Coffman Funeral Home in Jasper with Pastor James Compton officiating.

Burial will follow in Low Gap Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM Saturday before the service.

Pallbearers will be Tanner Stephens, Ryan Stephens, Cameron Wise, and Trevor Wise.
