Obituary
Alta Opal Irwin, age 95 of Mt. Judea, AR, passed away Thursday, March 27, 2008, in Harrison, AR.
The daughter of Absalom and Ada (Herrod) Smith, was born April 13, 1912 in Cherokee County, Texas.
She moved to Newton County over 50 years ago from Dumas, TX and was a homemaker. She attended Mt. Judea Church of Christ.
Her husband of 55 years, O.B. Irwin, preceded her in death, along with her parents; five sisters; and two brothers.
Survivors are her daughter, Linda Criner, of Mt. Judea; her sister, Dorothy Byers, of Texas; three granddaughters; five great grandchildren; and nine great great grandchildren.
Open visitation will be held in the afternoon on Friday, March 28, 2008 at Coffman Funeral Home in Jasper.
Service 2 P.M. Saturday, March 29, 2008 at Mt. Judea Church of Christ with Rev. Jimmie McCutcheon officiating. Burial will follow in Mt. Judea Cemetery. Pallbearers are Robert Smith, Bodie Pinkley, Joe Cook, Farrion Campbell, Kevin McCutcheon, and Si Compton.
Honorary pallbearers are Ronnie Campbell, Shelvon Gregory, Jerry Marshall, and Billy Joe McCutcheon.
