IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Alma
Dotson
April 13, 1925 – October 25, 2019
Alma Bolin Dotson, 94 of Harrison, Arkansas, passed away Friday, October 25, 2019 at NARMC, surrounded by her family.
The daughter of Jim and Martha (Carter) Bolin was born at Mount Judea, Arkansas on April 13, 1925. She was a resident of Newton and Boone County most of her life and had attended Lurton Assembly of God.
Alma was a hard worker, committed to providing for her family. In her youth, she labored in fields picking cotton, strawberries and peaches. She also worked at Levi-Strauss for over 20 years until her retirement. After retiring, she continued to work, sitting with elderly people day and night.
She enjoyed sewing, embroidery and crocheting, flower gardening and especially fishing. Alma loved cooking for her family. Everyone was always welcome in her home and never left without being fed, even if it was just an apple to take with them. There was always a table full of food and she made the best turkey and dressing. Alma loved her family with all her heart and her world revolved around her family. She was devoted to them, helping them any way she could, including caring for them when they were sick, even as adults.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her 7 siblings, 3 grandbabies, 2 sons, William Glen Dotson and Jimmy Doyle Dotson and her daughter, Linda Mae Smith.
Alma is survived by her daughters and sons-in-law, Donna and Charles Govoro, Jackie and Clifford Rylee, Debbie and Kary Middleton and Luell Smith; 21 grandchildren, 44 great grandchildren, 5 great great grandchildren, and a host of nieces, nephews and extended relatives, all who loved her and will miss her.
Funeral services will be at 1:00 PM, Thursday, October 31, 2019 at Lurton Assembly of God with Rev. Stanley Taylor officiating. Burial will follow at Mount Judea Cemetery.
Visitation will be Wednesday from 6-8 PM at Coffman Funeral Home in Jasper.
Pallbearers are her grandsons and great grandsons.
