Allen K. Gentry, age 63 of Western Grove, AR passed away Monday, December 31, 2007, in Western Grove.
The son of Allen Truman and Ruby Jewell (Martin) Gentry, was born December 18, 1944 at Harrison.
Allen K. had been a resident of this area for several years, moving from Golden, MO. While at
Golden he raised cattle and worked for W. O. Martin. He was a member of the New Hope Tabernacle of Faith Church and enjoyed listening to gospel music. He also enjoyed sports. He had done custodial work for Valley Springs, Western Grove and Mt. Judea Schools.
His parents preceded him in death, along with his wife, Mae Gentry; and brothers, J.W. Gentry and Mitchell Gentry.
Survivors are his sisters, Avon Starr of North Little Rock, Fern Elliott, and Mary Sue Eaton, both of Western Grove; brothers, Jerry Gentry, of Harrison and Michael Gentry, of Western Grove; his former wife, Mary Jane Gentry, of Mt. Judea; step-children, Rozetta and her husband Sean Edwards, of Mt. Judea; Garry Ricketts, Jr., of Western Grove, and Cassandra Ricketts, of Mt. Judea; and several nieces, nephews, and many friends.
Service was Saturday, January 5, 2008, at Coffman Funeral Home Chspel in Harrison with Rev. Donald Brown officiating. Burial followed in Western Grove Cemetery. Pallbearers were Quintin Reddell, Dentin Reddell, Jerry Lee, Jeremy Wyatt, Paul David Lee, Tommy Wallace, and Darrell Dean. Honorary pallbearers were Keith Fisk, Tooley Martin, Tom Flud, Valley Springs School System, Mike McClintock, James Durant, and Newton Co. in Home Health Service and Aides.
