Obituary
Alice Gelene (Nichols) Tennison Chapman of Forsyth, Missouri went home to be with the Lord on Saturday, November 26, 2016 at the age of 85.
The daughter of Jim and Vesta (Freeman) Nichols was born March 10, 1931 at Knoxville, Arkansas.
She had formerly attended Union Road Assembly of God and most recently attended Faith Assembly of God in Forsyth. She and her first husband Troy Tennison owned and operated Beacon Tire Service in Harrison for several years. After his passing, she married Bobby Chapman of Forsyth and lived there 10 years, returning to Arkansas after his death. She spent most of her life in Boone and Newton Counties in Arkansas and moved back to Forsyth, Missouri in January 2016 after the passing of her daughter.
Alice loved to go shopping and fishing and enjoyed going on family vacations. She was a devoted mother and grandmother, enjoyed spending time with her sisters and loved her dog, Punkin.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her first husband, Troy Tennison, her second husband, Bobby Chapman, two daughters, Kathryn Eddings and Sheila Christian, two brothers, Woodrow Nichols and Monroe Nichols, three sisters, Shirley Miller, Bobbie Yocham and Frankie Spain, and her son-in-law, Terry Eddings.
Alice is survived by her son, Roy Tennison and wife, Nancy of Forsyth; two sisters, Jimmie Lou McCutcheon of Mount Judea and Bettye Robinson and husband Johnny of Mount Judea; a son-in-law, Cecil Christian of Alpena; 7 grandchildren, Randy, Scott, Rhonda, Jonathan, Casey, Kristi, Cecilia; 9 great grandchildren, and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends who loved her and will mourn her passing.
Services will be held at 2:00 PM, Thursday, December 1, 2016 at Coffman Funeral Home Chapel in Harrison with Rev. Roy Tennison officiating. Burial will follow at Maplewood Cemetery.
Pallbearers are Randy Tennison, Scott Tennison, Randy Broaddus, Cecil Christian, Cody Tennison and Charles Campbell.
Visitation will be Wednesday from 6-8 PM at the funeral home.
