Alan Arthur Connolly, age 62 of Valley Springs, Arkansas passed away Sunday April 17, 2011. He was born August 29, 1948 in Harrison, Arkansas to Leonard W. and Joyce Ardith (Harp) Connolly.
Visitation was Thursday, April 21, 2011 at Coffman Funeral Home in Harrison.
Service was Friday, April 22, 2011 at the funeral home chapel with Stan Webb officiating.
Burial followed in Sand Hill Cemetery at Yardell, Arkansas with pallbearers being James McFarland, Josh Trammel, Charlie Estes, Arlen Monday, Bob Woodell, and Larry Phillips.
Honorary pallbearers were Gene Dean, Barry Greenhaw, Joe Bill Edwards, Tim Connolly, Josh Ford, Eddie Carter, and J.D. Adams.
Alan was a life-long resident of Valley Springs and drove a bus for the Valley Springs School for over 25 years. He was a true outdoorsman. He loved hunting, fishing, camping, digging for arrowheads, and spending time with friends and family.
He was preceded in death by his father and one brother, Lawrence Connolly.
He is survived by his mother, Joyce A. Connolly of Valley Springs; three brothers, Ronald Connolly and wife Polly of Garfield, Leroy Connolly and wife Mary Joyce of Rogers, and Harold Connolly of Rogers; two sisters, Florence Weeks and husband Ben of Valley Springs and Mary Hamilton and husband Kenneth of Harrison; one cousin, Kathy Buckalew of Delaware; 9 nieces; 4 nephews; 8 great-nieces; 5 great-nephews; 1 great-great-niece and lots of friends. He was loved by numerous friends and neighbors.
