Agnes Magaline Stovall (Holt) of Harrison, Arkansas passed from this life into the arms of her Savior on April 18, 2026 at Hillcrest Home, at the age of 94. She was surrounded by her loved ones as she took her final breath. She was born on March 22, 1932 to George and Leathie Holt.
Agnes was preceded in death by her parents; her sisters, Audrey and Edith; her brothers, Ernell, Dallas, and Raymond; husband, Otto Sutton; husband later in life, Herb Stovall; grandson, Danny Wayne Canady; son, Danny Canady; daughter, Teri Rollings; grandson, Danny Glen Shatwell, and granddaughter, Trina Wills. There is no doubt that after she received her countless rewards from the Lord, there was a line a mile long of loved ones who have been patiently waiting to embrace her again.
Agnes is survived by one son, Rick Sutton (Dedy), grandsons, Roy Shatwell, Rob Willis (Erin), John Canady (Andrea), Dustin Canady, and Zach Sutton; granddaughters, Nicole Canady and Tashia Jones (Evan) who held her hand and comforted her until the very moment she left this world behind. Agnes was blessed with many great grandchildren, Teri Flores(Hector), Emily, Harley Quinn, Eli, Emmet, Exley, Tyran, and Evie Jo who kept her smiling and laughing up until her last days.
She is also survived by two nieces, Marla Corder (Jerry) and Sheila Hampton (Lester) and a host of other loved ones and friends who have been blessed to know her.
Agnes was known by many names. To most of us, she will always be Nanny. To some she is Mame, Mom, Aggie, Mag, Mrs. Agnes and more. The most important name she carried with her is the name of Jesus. She loved and served Him faithfully throughout her life. She wanted nothing in life more than for her family to do the same. Nanny’s prayers and tough love are the reason any of us are still here. She was the spiritual rock of our family. No matter what kind of mess we made or chaos we found ourselves in, we knew we could go to Nanny for prayer, advice, and a safe space. We might not have been safe from her wooden spoon, but we knew she loved us nonetheless. We know beyond all doubt that when Nanny left this world and opened her eyes in the presence of Jesus, He said to her, “Well done, my good and faithful servant!”
The family would like to thank Andrea Canady for all of her help and support, the staff of Hillcrest Home for taking such great care of our beloved grandmother, and specifically Diana Lupo who cared for her with such love and compassion that Nanny called her “Her Anne.”
Visitation will be from 5 PM to 7 PM on Tuesday, April 21, 2026 at Coffman Funeral Home in Harrison.
Funeral service will be at 2 PM, Wednesday, April 22, 2026 at Coffman Funeral Home with Pastor Rob Willis officiating. Burial will follow at Smith Cemetery in Vendor.
Pallbearers are Roy Shatwell, Rob Willis, John Canady, Evan Jones, Dustin Canady, and Jerry Corder. Honorary Pallbearers are Hillcrest Home Staff.
